Beef Ramen Soup

I had ramen for the first time ever a few weeks ago, and fell in love πŸ™‚ It was a lovely light soup, healthy and tasted great. My boyfriend, Chuck agreed. Chuck loves to have me attempt to make the food we love out at home (most times we succeed). This week we decided to make our attempt with Ramen!

Most Ramen is pork or chicken-based but neither of us are huge pork fans (except for Bacon ;)), I am still not stomaching chicken. We normally eat a lot of veggie-based meals, but both agreed we wanted some meat in our ramen.. enter this delicious and amazing Beef Ramen Recipe.

Ramen Excitement πŸ™‚



  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, soften the white parts of the onions, the garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes in 2 tbsp (30 ml) of the oil. Add the broth, water, sweet potato, fish sauce and soy sauce. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes or until the sweet potato is tender. Adjust the seasoning.
  2. Add the noodles and cook for 3 minutes or until tender. Add broth, if needed.
  3. Meanwhile, in a skillet over high heat, brown the steak on both sides in the remaining oil until the desired doneness. Season with salt and pepper. Let rest for 5 minutes on a work surface, and then slice.
  4. Ladle the soup into bowls. Garnish with the meat, bean sprouts, the green parts of the onions and the cilantro. Serve with lime wedges, if desired.

(this recipe took only 15 minutes to make, and can be made even easier if you buy pre-chopped veggies)

Overall this recipe was fast, delicious and super easy to make. A huge shout out Ricardo Cuisine for sharing this recipe πŸ™‚ 10/10 would make again.
